Description:  The City of Ventura Environmental Services Office is offering free in classroom presentations on recycling, waste reduction, preserving natural resources, environmental shopping, composting, stormwater and other environmental issues important to our community. This is open to all public and private schools and youth organizations as well as adults within the city limits of Ventura. Half-hour presentations are available for kindergartens and one hour or one class period presentations for grades 1 through 12. These presentations align with California State Content Standards in science, mathematics and language arts. For Grade 3 we also offer our special "Dr. Rot" presentation that incorporates music, dance and theatrical performance while covering basic concepts on recycling, composting and reusing waste. Free worm and composting bins are available for schools. A recycling specialist is also available to help schools reduce waste and increase their recycling efforts.
