Description:This summer field study will include a one-day workshop in the classroom focusing on Service-Learning and background information in preparation for the field studies, two days of on-site field studies, one day in the computer lab creating teaching tools using PowerPoint, and one optional field study day. You will also receive a free kit of material to use in the classroom. Field studies may vary as weather and road conditions may change. Planned field studies include trips to a Tourmaline mine inside the Arrowhead tunnel, the Jurupa Mountain Cultural Center, and along the Elsinore Fault. Some trips may require substantial walking on uneven surfaces.
