Description:  Adopt-a-Watershed is an integrated K-12 science curriculum that uses a local watershed as the focal point for learning. Each grade-specific watershed unit offers classroom activities and resources, field studies, restoration projects, and community action projects. Resource lists, equipment information, and supplemental lesson plans from other sources are also provided. At the 4-6 level and for the purpose of this compendium, two units were reviewed.

In Birds (1997 revised, 189 p., $81.00) 17 lessons invite students to participate in bird watching and bird feeding, understanding diversity and adaptations, conduct bird population studies, explore endangered species of birds, and become involved in action projects and field studies. This unit is accompanied by A Home for Pearl video and Instruction Guide, and NatureScope: Birds. Student worksheets are available in Spanish.
