Each grade-specific watershed unit offers classroom activities and resources, field studies, restoration projects, and community action projects. Resource lists, equipment information, and supplemental lesson plans from other sources are also provided. At the 7-9 level and for the purpose of this compendium, one unit was reviewed. In Forest Ecosystems (1999, 174 p.) students learn about the forest ecosystem in their watershed through 14 lessons, community action projects, tree succession studies, and journal writing. This unit is accompanied by the Full Option Science System (FOSS): Environments Unit. Student worksheets are available in Spanish.
