Additional Information provided for Compendium Resources:
  • Report Card - These grades are derived from scores given by reviewers in response to questions in the Compendium Evaluation Tool (pdf)

  • Discipline Emphasis graph - Reviewers were asked to indicate the degree of emphasis placed on each discipline. Zero (0) indicated no emphasis, one (1) indicates some emphasis, two (2) indicates more emphasis, and three (3) indicates major emphasis.

  • Reviewer Comments - These comments reflect the reviewers' written responses on the narrative portion of the Compendium Evaluation Tool (pdf) and are categorized by topic. If there are no comments on a particular topic, that heading will not appear in the comments section. Comments that are direct quotes appear in quotation marks; others summarize the evaluators' notes and may have been edited for clarity.

  • Sample Pages - clicking on this link will open a PDF document containing two samples pages from the curriculum. Many lessons are more than two pages in length. Sample pages, therefore, may not include an entire lesson.
Generous funding for inclusion of the Communities Compendium resources in the CREEC directory was provided by the California Department of Education, the California Department of Boating and Waterways and the California Community Forests Foundation. The project was managed by WestEd in cooperation with The Acorn Group, the California Department of Education's Office of Environmental Education and the California Community Forests Foundation.
