Description:  Environmental Science: Changing Populations, Ecosystems, Land Use, Water & Air (1995) is a five-part curriculum, each part consisting of a Student Book and Teacher Resource Manual. Student readings are followed by field or lab studies, case studies and review questions; the corresponding Teacher Resource Manual provides answers, a guide to the activities, and suggestions for performance assessment. Four of the five titles in the series were reviewed for this compendium. Changing Populations (92 p. and 41 p.) examines populations including human populations, and the human impact on natural ecosystems. Ecosystems (92 p. and 41 p.) examines the nature of ecosystems, the changes and interactions within them, and human values and environmental ethics. Land Use (92 p. and 43 p.) examines food production and natural processes, farming practices and environmental implications, land use and management in human communities, and waste production. Water & Air (92 p. and 36 p.) studies water supplies, quality, and conservation, as well as the atmosphere and air pollution issues.
