Description:  Cal Alive! celebrates the rich biological heritage of California, offering thorough background information on the geology, climate and water, ecology, and human history that characterize the diverse habitats of the state. Designed for use in grades 4—8, the Cal Alive! Classroom Guide (2001, 378 p.) is the companion tool for the Professional Edition Cal Alive! CD-ROMs. It stands alone as a curriculum resource, offering overviews, activities, projects, and resources for studying California's biomes, habitats, plants and animals. Masters for Cal Alive student passports, Diversity Detective Animal Cards, Discovery Mission Cards, regional maps of California, color poster map, and glossary are also provided. Activities are correlated to the California Content Standards for Science, English-Language Arts, and History-Social Science.
