Description:  A collection of six booklets and educator's guide, Going Places, Making Choices (1998) is a grade 9 —12 curriculum focused on transportation and the environment. Activities are designed to help secondary level students understand and respond to transportation issues and its affect on land use, global climate, world economics, industry, air pollution, and culture. Unit 1, Cruise through History (22 p.), Unit 2, Natural Resources and Energy Use (24 p), Unit 3, Sweating over Climate Change (28 p.), Unit 4, Land Use, (24 p.), and Unit 5, A Matter of Choice (24 p.) each offers background information and points of interest relative to a teenager's perspective, and series of activities designed to explore the issue and generate solutions. Assessment tools, student handouts, extended learning opportunities, and additional curriculum resources are also provided.
