Description:  CurriculumEarth: An Awareness to Action Program for K—12 consists of 15 units covering environmental education, earth, life, and physical science as well as social science. Lessons are sequentially arranged and move from a study of awareness and values to knowledge and action. Glossary, bibliography, resources, and numerous appendices are included.

The Communities units were reviewed for the purpose of this compendium. At the high school level (1995,190 p.), lessons focus on the history and types of land use, land use planning and conflict, human population, pollution, and sustainable societies. Activities are correlated with National Geography Standards, Project 2061 Benchmarks for Science Literacy, and National Science Education Standards.
