Description:  The Federal Junior Duck Stamp program is a classroom activity series for kindergarten through 12th grade students that promotes conservation through the arts. Lessons focus on natural history, conservation, wetlands, wildlife, art and stamp collecting. The students create images for junior duck stamps. The images are entered into an annual state contest (the deadline March 15th) with 100 winners and Best of Show. The California Waterfowl Association offers free classroom presentations to private and public schools, or to groups, like scouts. Teachers or group leaders choose a theme (Fascinating Feathers, Take Flight, etc) and CWA provides a lesson correlated to the California State Standards and an art lesson and information about the Junior Duck Stamp Contest, including everything needed to enter.
