Mission Statement:  Nawa Academy is a non-traditional boarding school that prepares students with diverse learning needs to meet the challenges and complexities of the future. Through an experiential approach to learning, a creative and caring faculty and a nurturing environment, we seek to instill an excitement for lifelong learning. We encourage efforts to confront challenges, which fuel a growing realization of greater capability. We teach and reflect the values of moral character, physical wellness, and social responsibility by fostering open communication between faculty and students. Nawa Academy openly embraces the qualities of individuality, responsibility, diversity, human dignity and respect for others. By living in an atmosphere based on patience, dialogue, and intellectual inquiry, our students develop the skills to face the future successfully.

The Nawa Academy offers three distinctly different nine month boarding school programs to serve students in grades 7-12.
The California Academy is located on a 556-acre campus in the Trinity Alps of Northern California and offers hands-on academics with extensive vocational training in an active, stimulating environment. The International Academy combines academic and intercultural experiences with international travel. The students spend 2 weeks at a time, traveling to a variety of different locations around the world, including China, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Russia, the Philippines, and Argentina. Snowboard USA combines academics with snowboarding. Season training includes skateboarding, mountain boarding, competitive, and non-competitive snowboarding. All programs include high academic standards and training in leadership and outdoor skills. Nawa provides many unique programs for everybody. Review our website and find more information about our boarding school and adventure summer school programs.
What separates us from other schools and organizations is how we blend adventure and learning. Challenging youth in a structured learning environment allows them to grow and succeed.

Nawa Academy also offers four adventure summer schools/camps. Earn academic credit while rockclimbing, whitewater rafting, caving, and backpacking.
