Mission Statement:  To attain and maintain a healthful environment while supporting strong and sustainable economic growth. The Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District is a regulatory government agency resonsible for regulating air pollution sources in the High Desert.

The MDAQMD is the High Desert 'home' of the Mojave Desert Environmental Education Consortium (MEEC), a subzone within CREEC Region 10.

CREEC/MEEC is the Mojave Desert's connection to teachers and non-formal educators. Under the umbrella of CREEC, our combined mission is to link teachers with high quality environmental education resources to improve the environmental literacy of California's students.

Through a sponsoring partnership with local businesses and agencies, MEEC is able to focus on the Mojave Desert's unique environment.

* MEEC is a zone within CREEC's Region 10 with headquarters at the MDAQMD in Victorville.

* MEEC links High Desert educators with the most effective environmental education resources at no charge!

* MEEC provides maintains an environmental library and sponsors local environmental education workshops, science fairs, speakers, and regional events.
