Type of Environmental Education Provider:  Not for Profit

Mission Statement:  To maintain, preserve, and protect native animal and plant habitats and to foster a greater public awareness of our environment with an emphasis on birds and their ecosystems, particularly in Santa Clara County and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Educational topics include wetlands, wildlife, bay habitats, and creeks. Programs include Audubon Adventures Student Program, Wetlands Discovery Program, and Creek Walks. Presentations and slideshows on wetlands, adaptation, migration, birds, etc. available. Call for more information. Grades K-9

SCVAS' Teacher Resource Center contains worksheets, activities, and other curricula related to birds, creeks, wetlands, and other environmental education topics. Materials for loan via the Teacher resource center include Education Kits (topics include: Birds of Prey, Cavity-Nesters, Beak and Feet Adaptations, and Migration), various slide shows with scripts, and mounted bird specimens.
Our programs, especially our Wetlands Discovery Program, is correlated with California State Science Standards for grades 3-6.
