Mission Statement: To gather and disseminate ideas, resources, and curricula to support and encourage creative exploration and expressions in the arts, while promoting a greater understanding of environmental issues.

The concept behind Art From Scrap program is incredibly simple and yet surprisingly unique: take materials that would normally be thrown away, and provide them as art supplies to school children and the public. What better way to encourage people to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle?

Art From Scrap has many faces. It is an arts and crafts materials reuse store, an environmental education organization, and an arts program. About 15,000 kids a year in Santa Barbara County come into contact with Art From Scrap through schools, youth and service organizations, environmental and art groups, and local festivals. And many more kids and adults know us from our store.

Visit Art From Scrap just for fun. Throw a party in our workshop, or come to a drop-in workshop. If you are working on a home project, you may find that we have what you need.
