Organizational InformationType of Environmental Education Provider: For Profit Mission Statement: The Geysers is the world's largest geothermal energy source, using clean, renewable steam from the earth to make electricity. The Calpine Geothermal Visitor Center features hands-on interactive energy exhibits and free guided bus tours to an operating geothermal power plant at the Geysers. Currently, the Visitor Center is open Wed-Sat 10-4. By appointment, teachers can bring students to the visitor center for a tour of the exhibit room and interactive activities including educational worksheets.
